Our theme for this week is that God’s people worship Him. Exodus 25-27,29, 30 and Leviticus 6,7 share how God wanted the Israelites to worship him and to offer sacrifices to him at the tabernacle. God also wants us to gather together with other believers to worship him and to give him our offerings.
-
Leviticus 16 explains the use of the Day of Atonement to help the Israelites to remember that the Savior would come to take away their sins. We rejoice that God has sent his Son, Jesus, to shed his blood to take away our sins. Since our Lord became the ultimate sacrifice, we no longer need to make daily sacrifices as the Israelites did.
