Welcome to Kindergarten 

Good Afternoon!

 

We have a busy week ahead of us as we put the finishing touches on our parts of the  Children's Christmas Service.  We are singing and ringing throughout the program! Just a reminder, the children will participate in both services that morning, 9:15am and 10:30am.  There will be a little snack for them between the services.  Please have your child at church by 9:05am.  We will meet in the church fellowship hall.  This is where you will pick your child up following the last service, around 11:30am.  No special costume is necessary, just Christmas clothes. 

 

Our trip to see the APA festival tree and participate in a scavenger hunt at the Hyatt hotel is this coming Friday.  We will leave at 10:15am and be back in time for lunch.  If you have not returned your permission forms yet, please do so tomorrow so I can finalize car arrangements. Thanks! Also, if possible, please have your child wear the red APA Handpicked by God T-shirt that day.

 

On Monday the 15th we take our Christmas songs to Harmony to sing for the residents.  We will leave at 10:15am.  Please return those permission forms as as soon as possible, too, so car arrangements can be made. Christmas clothes or APA school uniform is permitted for this day. 

 

The collection box for the Shriners Children's Hospital will remain outside our classroom this week. It would be great if we could fill the box by Friday! 

 

And one final reminder, we do not have a supply of forks and spoons in our classroom, so please send the intensity your child will need for snack and lunch. Thank you!

Christ Light stories - "The 10 Commandments" (Exodus 19-20) and "The Golden Calf (Exodus 32 and 34)

Reading - reading and writing words with letter "b"; sight word "so"

Math - counting by 10s and working with dimes, correctly writing numbers 0-10

Writing Workshop - We continue working on our family Christmas books. 

Social Studies - We travel back to Asia and learn about the country of China.

Looking Ahead to some fun days during our  last week before Christmas break:

Wednesday, Dec, 17  - GRINCH DAY:  We will have lots of Grinchy activities and crafts throughout the day and your child may dress in Grinch clothes or green.  

Thursday, Dec. 18 - CHRISTMAS SPIRIT DAY AT APA:  Show your Christmas spirit with Christmas sweaters, Christmas socks, Christmas hats and headbands, etc.

Friday, Dec. 19 - CLASSROOM CHRISTMAS PARTY and DISMISSAL AT 12PM
