Welcome to Kindergarten

Classroom News and Notes

Good Afternoon!

The final few days of Kindergarten have arrived!  It's been a privilege and a pleasure to partner with you this year and watch your children grow and learn in so many ways.  Mrs. Mandy and I will miss your little ones, but we pray you enjoy your summer together and look forward to seeing you back in August.

Our days this week are themed, beginning with Ice Cream Day on Monday. We will learn about how ice cream is made and experiment with making our own.  We will also celebrate all of our classmates' summer birthdays on Monday.

Tuesday is Water Day.  For the elementary students, the fun begins at 11:30 AM with a hot dog lunch and then slides and lots of water fun. School will start at 8:00 AM  and your child may come in a swimsuit (with a shirt and shorts over it, for girls, and a T-shirt with swim trunks for boys) or change into it shortly before we head outside. The slides will be out until 2:30 PM, so our dismissal will be at the regular 2:45 PM time, but you may pick up earlier if you'd like. You may also come at 11:30 AM and spend the afternoon with us and leave whenever you are ready. Please be sure your child has a towel, flip flops, water bottle, and sunscreen, especially if you are not planning to join us. Also, Brusters will be selling ice cream from 11:30-2:00 PM. The cost is $4.25 for a cone or bowl.

Wednesday is Game Day. We will spend the day reviewing material with games and playing games we have learned throughout the year.

Thursday is Star Wars Day. Star Wars clothes, action figures, and stuffies are welcome!

Friday is our final day and final chapel.  The Kindergarten class will be recognized for completing their first full year of school.  We hope you can join us.  School dismisses at noon. Please send an extra bag along with your child's backpack to take everything home.  In addition to your child's supplies, I will also be sending home a summer packet for continued reading, writing, and math over the summer.

That's a lot of information, so I will wrap this up, but please let me know if you have any questions about what's going on during our last  few days of school.

Blessings,

Karen
