Welcome to Kindergarten
Classroom News and Notes
Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
Whether you're cheering for the Seahawks or Patriots or are looking to see some good commercials, I hope you enjoy the game.
We will spend the next days graphing the USA medal count and learning more about some of the Winter Olympic sports taking place in Italy. We've also got lots of Valentine "stuff" going on in our classroom. A fun week to be in Kindergarten!
Our classroom Valentine celebration is on Friday. Your child may dress for Valentine's Day, so no normal Friday dress code. Please have your child bring a valentine for each student in the classroom. Thank you, Mrs. Mandy, for providing the cookies for our special party treat. Please remember that Friday is a half day with dismissal at 12pm.
Here's a peek at our week:
Christ Light stories - "God Helps Gideon in Battle" (Judges 7) and "Samson" (Judges 13-15)
Reading - This is a review week with a formal assessment on Thursday. New sight words are "who", "will", and "go".
Math - beginning addition (look for flash cards in the reading bag this week) and measurement
Writing Workshop - writing a class book for Valentine's Day
Science - Our weather unit continues as we learn more about storms, snow, wind, and clouds.
Friday show-and-tell - No show-and-tell this week
