Welcome to Kindergarten 

Good Afternoon!

 

I hope you are fully recovered from a fun-filled Field Day on Friday.  I was so proud of our little ones for the great job they did participating in all the events.  Thank you, parents, for all the help and support you provided to make the day successful.  Thanks, too, for helping your child participate in all of the Spirit Days. We will hear who wins the Spirit Stick on Friday in chapel. 

 

This week our focus shifts to Entertainment Night (May 14) and the "Dinostars".  You will receive a note in the folder concerning costumes this week.

 

You will also receive an invitation from your child to join us for Mother's Day Muffins with Mom on Monday, May 11th.  

 

Here's a peek at our week:

Christ Light stories - "A Young Girl Helps Naaman" (2 Kings 5) and "Jonah" (Jonah 1-3)

Reading - reading and writing words with letters "q" and "y"; sight words "have", "help", and "very"

Math - story problems, cones, and time of day

Writing Workshop - We begin our final creative story, "Underwater View".  Your child's letter to a family member or friend, which we worked on last week, will come home tomorrow in the folder. 

Science - Our beach unit continues and our mural continues to grow as we learn more about God's creatures at the seashore, including crabs, sea stars, and sand dollars. Also, our caterpillars have emerged as butterflies!  We will enjoy them in the classroom tomorrow and then release them.
