Our Teachers
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Zach Seeger (Principal and Elementary Teacher Grades 3-5)
Mr. Zach Seeger holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Martin Luther College and has been at Abiding Peace Academy since 2014. From 2009-2014 he served as principal/teacher at St. John Lutheran School in Hemlock, MI. Prior to working in Michigan, Mr. Seeger also taught in Milwaukee, WI, and Wuhan, China.  He is currently pursuing a master's degree in education.
Karen Rodewald (Director of Early Childhood Ministry and Elementary Teacher Kindergarten)
Mrs. Karen Rodewald holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Martin Luther College and is an experienced musician. She has over 20 years of teaching experience (preschool – grade 8) with 12 of those years teaching preschool. She also has over 10 years of experience teaching in multi-grade classrooms.
Elizabeth Tiedemann (Elementary Teacher Grades 1-2)
Mrs. Elizabeth Tiedemann holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a minor in music from Martin Luther College. She has over 10 years of musical experience. She is in her third year of teaching at Abiding Peace Academy. During her training, she worked with grades 1-4 in both a single grade and multi-grade setting.
PRESCHOOL
Debra Hood (Teacher K4 and Enrichment Day Teacher)
Mrs. Debra Hood holds a bachelor's degree in international transportation and logistics from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. She worked over 5 years with the Military Sealift Command delivering supplies to Navy vessels all over the world. In between sea duty, she taught Sunday school and VBS at her father's church, Faith Lutheran, in Oregon. This is her third year teaching at Abiding Peace Academy.

K4 teacher's aide: Mrs. Carolyn Dahms
Robyn Smarr (Teacher K4)
Mrs. Robyn Smarr holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Longwood College in Virginia. She has over fifteen years of experience working with children of all ages in various roles, including twelve years teaching elementary and middle school in both Virginia and South Carolina.  Robyn has been part of the Abiding Peace Academy family as a parent and MMO teacher, and she is excited to be working as a teacher in the K4 classroom this year.

K4 teacher's aide: Mrs. Sarah Drallmeier
Liz Shafer (Teacher K3)
Mrs. Liz Shafer holds a bachelor's degree in history from Clemson University and is also classically trained on the piano. She worked for almost three years during and after college as a tutor and mentor at Clemson with the Student Athlete Enrichment Program. A move then took her to Florida where she worked with early elementary aged children in the Citrus County school system for two years. This is her third year teaching at Abiding Peace Academy.

K3 teacher's aides: Mrs. Katie Schopen and Mrs. Chantrey Beckstrom
Becky Seeger (Teacher K2)
Mrs. Becky Seeger holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Martin Luther College with a minor in social studies.  After teaching for several years in elementary schools, she took a hiatus to raise her family.  During that time she has been involved with several moms and toddler programs. This is her second year teaching at Abiding Peace Academy.

K2 teacher's aide: Mrs. Chantrey Beckstrom
Katie Schopen (Teacher MMO and K3 Teacher's Aide)
Mrs. Katie Schopen holds a Diploma in Business Management from the University of Nuernberg, Germany and worked over 4 years as a Junior Controller for a catering and hotel management company. She is also classically trained on the piano. Last year, she worked as the K3 teacher's aide at Abiding Peace Academy. This year she will be teaching MMO in addition to helping out as a teacher's aide in the K3 classroom.
